How soon will there be a hard book edition please?
ReplyDeleteClare,
DeleteI wish I could give you a definite answer. When I started this project I didn't want to spend a year or two recruiting an agent and then a publisher. I've been down that road. I once had a very goo proposal to do a book about Roy Cohn. Actually had lunch with Ned Chase a senior editor at McMillan. (He had son named Chevy and a daughter who was a professor of English at Cornell)There was competition and unfortunately Nick Von Hoffman who had a "track record" won a contract and cleared the field. His book was Citizen Cohn and it was a best seller.
I knew this book was going to take a great deal of research. It actually took four years.
About 15 years ago before the E-Book era began I met an editor at Harpers at a Sierra Club Christmas Party in NYC who remarked the new trend was to bus self-published books. E-Books and Create Space are self-publishing on steroids.
My plan now that the Quantum Christ is published is to seek out an agent/publisher. The problem is that a self-published hard cover would be quite expensive because of the numerous color illustrations which are really important. My estimates were $50+ and the self-published hard cover charge substantial up-front money.
The soft-cover book cover is quite sturdy and in a glossy full color
Anybody know a good agent who might be interested in selling it to trade book publisher? Major trade book publishers only accept proposals tendered by an agent. (klotzlaw@gmail.com)
